2. Matters arising from the Minutes

Bus Shelter

Iain Shand had written to Campbell Stewart the Area Roads and Community Works

Manager confirming approval of the site for the Bus Shelter in the village and the hope

that installation will be achieved without further delay in the new financial year.

Christmas Lights

Tony Gibbs said that the lights are currently being stored in the garden at the home of

Lynne and Jamie Burgess but we still need some secure storage facility.

Windfarms

a) Achany Windfarm Community Benefit Fund

At the open meeting with the representatives from the SCF held

on 31st March in Ardgay Hall, members of the community wishing to serve on

the Advisory Panel were asked to complete a nomination form to be forwarded to

the SCF for consideration.  There will be four seats on the Advisory Panel from

each Community area, two members from the Community and two serving

members from each Community Council.

Iain Shand and Marion Turner were nominated to be the two representatives

from the Ardgay Community Council

b) Beinn Tharsuinn

Derek Matheson questioned the need for a sub-committee to deal with grant

applications, as three members of the existing sub-committee are no longer

serving Council members. A new sub-committee will have to be appointed if

needed.

c) Rockby Sea/Fearn Renewables

No new information to report.

Action RR to make enquiries

Newsletter

David Hannah produced copies of the spring edition of the newsletter ready for

members to deliver within their local areas.  A grant of £884 has been received

from the Beinn Tharsuinn Windfarm Grant towards the costs.

Included in this edition is a Transport Survey Form, which readers are asked to

complete and return.

David Hannah was thanked and congratulated for his work on producing a very

professional looking newsletter.

KOSI

The next meeting is on Tuesday 28th April in Ardgay Hall.

It is not clear if Lynne Burgess will continue as Chair in the light of her future

study commitments.

3. Any Other Business

Tony Gibbs reported that Creich CC had asked for the views of the Ardgay CC on the

choice of a name for the new Migdale Hospital.  It was unanimously agreed that the new

hospital should retain the name of Migdale Hospital; this is also in line with the decision

of the Lairg CC.

Toilets

The Toilets in Ardgay Village opened today (6th April) and will remain open until the

middle of November.

The Sutherland Summit for Community Councils

The meeting proposed for the 27th April has been cancelled.

Police

Ian Shand said that it is regrettable that a representative from the Police does not attend

our meetings although they are sent copies of the agenda and minutes.

Robbie Rowantree felt that pressure on their commitments made it difficult for them to

attend on a regular basis.

Action IS to contact Dornoch Police

Dates of Future Meetings

Alan Lawrence asked if members have any preference to meeting on a different day of

the week rather than the traditional first Monday of the month.  Members will be asked

for their views at the next meeting.
